Workshop Overview
Join me for an immersive photography workshop in the stunning landscape of Assynt, known for its dramatic mountains, lochs, and coastlines. This workshop is designed for photographers of all levels, whether you're a beginner or a more experienced photographer looking to refine your skills. I’ve been visiting the Assynt area for several years now and can personally attest to just how stunning and varied this area is. From dramatic mountains to beautiful beaches, Assynt really does have it all, along with the famously dramatic Scottish weather!

My relaxed and encouraging approach will help you build a strong foundation, regardless of your previous experience. During the workshops, you will receive personalised instruction on composition, exposure, lighting, and much more. You will also have the opportunity to learn invaluable post-processing techniques on your images to bring out their full potential.
Hands on tuition from a multi-award winning photographer
To ensure an intimate learning environment and personalised attention, my workshops are limited to a small group of participants (4 max). This allows me to provide in-depth guidance and one-on-one support to each attendee. You will have ample opportunities to ask questions, receive feedback, and learn from my approach and experience.
Comfortable, cozy accommodation ideally situated
Our accommodation is the ideally placed Seafield House - a cozy and well appointed cottage based in the village of Lochinver, a stones throw away from all the locations we plan to shoot during the week. More information and images on the cottage are below:
Our base will be the warm and cozy Seafield House based on the seafront of Lochinver. The cottage is ideally placed to get to all of our locations within relatively short drives, including both the stunning Loch Assynt and Clachtoll Beach, both around 15 minutes away.
The cottage includes 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large kitchen/diner area where we can discuss our images and work on post-processing and image critique, and also two wood burners.

WORKSHOP SUMMARY
Duration: 5 nights / 4 days tuition
Price: £1399 (£300 non-refundable deposit / remaining balance to be settled no later than 12 weeks before the workshop date (30th August 2025).
Maximum participants: 4
Fitness level: Generally easy/low level walks of less than 45mins on sometimes uneven terrain, though a reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required should we decide to do longer walks depending on the weather.
Equipment: Please bring suitable outdoor clothing/boots/wellies in addition to your usual camera equipment
Transport: All transport provided though participants are free to use their own vehicles should they wish.
Locations covered: We’ll aim to cover locations such as Loch Assynt, Clachtoll Beach, Loch Lurgainn, Achnahaird Beach as well as many others. Locations will be decided based on the weather with the focus on being flexible and reactive to the conditions presented as with all my workshops.
What’s included: 5 nights accommodation in single occupancy rooms on a B&B basis / travel to locations / a generous amount of 1:1 dedicated tuition. First day is arrival (24th in the accommodation) final day is checkout by 10am on the 29th November. I have the house booked from the 22nd so you’re free to arrive earlier than the date stated - the workshop itself will commence the evening of the 24th.
