My aim through 1-to-1 tuition days is to give you an experience of The Lake District that you might not be able to get from other workshops

The day will be tailored around your needs, and the subjects you like to shoot, be it Mountains, Woodland, Lakes, whatever you like. I will provide you with the means necessary to improve your photography through better understanding of areas such as:

  • Improving composition
  • Working with light
  • Use of filtration
  • Location planning

Wastwater

Home to the highest ground in England, and also its deepest lake, Wastwater is as remote as it is spectacular, with it's dramatic Screes rising almost vertically some 550m from the water's edge. A place guaranteed to take your breath away, whatever the weather.

Buttermere

Located centrally in the Lake District, Buttermere is an area of outstanding natural beauty. With both Crummock Water and Loweswater close by, Buttermere benefits from being hemmed in somewhat by mountains on all sides, meaning calm and tranquil conditions are often the order of the day.

Eskdale

Upper Eskdale is one of the most remote parts of the Lake District, home to the notorious Hardknott Pass which links the Eskdale and Langdale Valleys. From here you are ideally located to take advantage of both low and high level walks, as well as taking in the more peaceful waterfalls and tarns as well.

All tuition days will be supplemented by a free e-document covering the basics of what has been learned and also a basic guide to post processing should you require one. Locations will be decided subject to weather conditions at the time. A reasonable level of fitness is required for some locations although this can be tailored to the individual.

I concentrate my days at these areas above as I can both guarantee you'll be getting the best first hand local knowledge from someone who knows the area extremely well having lived here all my life, and also that they all provide stunning scenery regardless of the weather conditions, year round.
