The Beauty Of The Lakes
4 Participants max
Spacious self-catering townhouse accommodation
5 nights / 4 days tuition
Join me to explore the stunning and picturesque Lake District, a paradise for Landscape Photography enthusiasts. You can be assured you’re in good hands where you will benefit from the detailed knowledge of an award-winning Lake District based photographer, something many residential workshop tours in the Lake District can’t offer. I’ve lived in the Lake District all my life and know it’s locations and weather patterns intimately.
Workshops are limited to 4 participants to ensure you get a generous amount of dedicated tuition time.
Our base will be Keswick, the most popular town in the Lake District and an ideal base to explore the surrounding areas such as Derwentwater, Ullswater, Buttermere and Grasmere.
We will meet on Saturday 5th November at the spacious Sula’s Loft - a 4 bedroom townhouse in the heart of Keswick. Accommodation will be provided on a self-catering basis. Breakfast and snacks will be provided across all days although you are free to bring/purchase your own food, there is a local Booth’s supermarket just 5 minutes drive from the house. Participants will be able to enjoy their own bedroom with linen and towels provided. Self-catering allows the group to be flexible with coming and going depending on the weather - no two days (or even two hours!) are the same in the Lake District, so being able to best take advantage of changing conditions is crucial.
My workshops are run in a relaxed, friendly manner and are aimed at photographers of all levels. Days in the field are planned flexibly and on a day-by-day basis - it’s important to not be too rigid in terms of locations, as the weather is constantly changing. What I can guarantee is that I will get you to 3-4 high-quality locations each day that will get the best out of the conditions on offer.
Throughout the week we will cover techniques such as:
Use of filtration
Choice of focal length
Basic post-processing techniques in Lightroom
There is a minimum number of people for this course to allow it to run. Anyone who books and the workshop shouldn’t run (unlikely), then the workshop will be refunded or you can transfer to another. As much notice will be given as possible. All bookings should be made 6 weeks prior to the workshop, this is to allow me to finalise numbers before paying final payments to the hotel. However, if the workshop is still listed after this date, then the workshop will still be going ahead and is available to book.
There is a £200 non-refundable booking fee required to secure your place with the balance due no later than 6-weeks before the start of the workshop.
